Anja Guggenheim is a Swiss-Filipino artist born and raised in Manila, Philippines.  Her work is an exploration of her layered identity - as a woman, a “halfer” (biracial) woman belonging to families with dominant female figures. Her work expresses themes of inherited ancestral patterns, collective mythology, and femalehood.

She is a self-taught ceramicist whose explorations in stoneware clay began in 2020. She merges traditional and modern techniques, often translating digital elements into clay with 3D printing and CNC routing before she manipulates forms in the traditional technique of slab-building.

Guggenheim lives and maintains a studio practice in Geneva, Switzerland.
